The British come to America

This is the story of the Indians and the colonists! The British came on boats in 1607. Like most boats, the boats have crows nests. They climb up the ropes on the side of the boats to get to the crows nest. The crows nest help them see land that is far away.

The boats had three floors. It carried people and cargo on the middle and bottom floor. They carried gun powder here too so it was far away from the kitchen and wouldn't blow up! The top floor is for them to work. The captain also stayed on the top. The boat is a cargo boat not a people boat so the people sleeped on mattresses on top of their trunks.

When the colonists came to America, the Indians were frightened but the colonists proved that they were nice, not doing any harm. Then the Indians came out of their houses which were called Yehakins. Then they met. The Indians helped the colonists get food. The colonists built houses with a big fence around the houses. One day, somebody thought someone else was doing something bad and then they couldn't say what they were doing because they had a different language. Then the Indians and colonists started to fight. The colonists were stronger in the fight because they had guns and canons. The Indians had bows and arrows.  So the colonists won the fight and stayed in America.

If you live in America, Indians may had stepped where you are stepping right now.
